Community Links SW CIC

Community Links South West is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Okehampton, Devon. We provide support services for families and music education for children through Okehampton Music Centre.

Through direct delivery of services, or by signposting and connecting clients with other groups and agencies, we have helped with a wide range of personal situations, including:

  • Being new to the area
  • Feeling isolated
  • Low self-esteem
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Managing children’s behaviour
  • School attendance
  • Special educational needs
  • Family breakdown
  • Bereavement
  • Phobias
  • Substance or alcohol misuse
  • Physical health or disability
  • Domestic abuse
  • Unemployment
  • Housing concerns
  • Debt

We have experienced, friendly practitioners who work alongside families and individuals in flexible ways to deliver skilled interventions that are focused and time-limited.

We facilitate support groups which provide safe spaces to connect with others experiencing similar challenges and helping to reduce feelings of isolation.

We run various events throughout the year including Family Thrive®, parenting courses, and various training opportunities.

We work creatively to try and plug the gaps in service provision which exist in the rural south-west.

Each of our core services has different sources of funding and various eligibility criteria. Although they are not free, we can provide many services at a subsidised rate, or with a voluntary donation.

As a social enterprise, with over 12 years of experience working with families, individuals, agencies, schools and preschools, our services are professional, safe and effective. We operate within a framework which ensures adherence to safeguarding, safe recruitment and data protection requirements. We monitor, evaluate and review our services to ensure we deliver to a high standard. We continually look for ways to provide support within communities, and our services evolve to reflect new areas of need.

We are a not for profit organisation, and any surplus funds are reinvested into delivering our provision. We are always extremely grateful for help offered by the community in the form of volunteering, fundraising and donations.
