NEW: Befriending and Inclusion Service

Community Links South West (logo)

Community Links SW CIC are looking for volunteers for their NEW Befriending and Inclusion Service. Funded by the National Lottery, the service aims to help vulnerable and lonely residents re-engage with the community.

Volunteers will receive comprehensive training before visiting clients in their homes. The aim is to support clients to get out of the home and into existing community projects, clubs and societies which they are interested in. New groups can be set up where a gap is identified, and it is hoped new Baby Group will be amongst the first to be developed.

There are also opportunities for volunteers to work alongside a trained facilitator in the various groups run by Community Links, including the Mental Health Group, Autism Parent Support Group and Men’s Group.

If clients require more in-depth support, volunteers will be able to refer them into Community Links’ other services or relevant specialist services.

Community Links SW CIC is keen to hear from people who are interested in becoming a Befriender. Community Links will ensure that you are well trained and supported in your role.

Further information can be found on the Befriending Volunteers Person Specification or [Download not found] . If you are interested, please fill out the volunteer application form and send to Community Links SW CIC, C/CO Okehampton College, Mill Road, Okehampton, EX20 1PW or contact Jean@communitylinks-sw.co.uk or phone 01837 55105.
