Celebrate the efforts of all the unpaid carers in a week of online events.

Due to the covid-19 situation, all events will be held online and you need to register for the events which include:

Mindfulness: A virtual forest therapy walk from your window, your balcony, your yard or your garden. Take some time out and immerse yourself with nature as our Nature & Forest Therapy Guide, Emma, leads you through the session.

Yoga for you: Gentle Yoga from your favourite cosy chair – what could be better! Join popular teacher, Bridget, for a soothing session of yoga from the comfort of your own home.  There’ll be poses you can take away with you to practise on your own.

Creative Carers Craft Workshop: Join professional crafter Lyndsey, from Crafting with Blooms by Lyndsey (www.bloomsbylyndsey.co.uk), and learn to make a beautiful flower out of items you have at home. A list of resources will be sent to you, so you can have them to hand.

Sports Quiz: Are you missing sport on the TV?  Come and show off your knowledge in our Quiz! Join other carers for some light-hearted entertainment about bats and balls, goals and grounds, triumphs and trophies.  Could you be the next Phil Tuffnel or Matt Dawson?!

Cuppa with a Copper: Stay up to date with keeping safe, with friendly advice and reassurance from our Neighbourhood Police Teams, including safety of property, personal safety, safety of belongings and safety from fraud.  An opportunity for you to ask questions.

Pins and Needles:All you sewers, cross-stitchers, embroiderers, dressmakers, patchworkers, quilters, tapestry-makers, plus knitters and crocheters, come and share your finished projects, your work in progress and hobbies with other carers.  It’s time to talk pins and needles!

Well-being and Relaxation: Take time for you and treat yourself to some much deserved relaxation. Our therapist, Rosie Kate, will teach you self-easing techniques such as relaxation breathing, gentle stretches, pressure points self-massage and shoulder and neck mobilisations.

Plus On your Bike, Carers Art Gallery, Virtual Garden Tours, Carers Cook Book, Mile with a Smile, Poetic Carers and Thank You to Carers.

You will need to book onto the events:  email: online@devoncarers.org.uk

If you have any concerns about keeping safe online, Devon Carers have issued guidance which can be found here. They can also help with setting up Zoom on your mobile tablet or computer so that you are able to join in. Just email the address above.
